- Overnight/Graveyard - Stay Awake Shifts: $1.00 per hour
Overview:
Care Managers are to provide individual and group rehabilitation services in Fort Bragg. Assist in providing behavioral interventions & support for adults as required by the client's treatment plan. Under the direction of a Licensed Clinician, you are responsible for developing and implementing one-to-one therapeutic interventions in the community. Participates as a member of the client's treatment team and collaborates with family and community members to best support and help clients with their specified goals, maintaining a full caseload of clients, and competence to document for Medi-Cal services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates activities that address the purpose of the Rehabilitative group and individual client plan.
- Follows the State Mental Health and County Mental Health guidelines for any service being provided.
- Provide authorized services only, unless directed by the Clinical Director to provide additional unauthorized serviced
- Converses with clients to reinforce positive behaviors and to promote social interaction.
- Serves meals and eats with clients to act as role model as it may apply to rehabilitative or behavior plan.
- Accompanies clients on shopping trips and instructs and counsels clients in purchase of personal items as it may apply to rehabilitative or behavior plan.
- Leads therapeutic activities, such as physical exercises, occupational arts and crafts, and recreational games, with clients.
Education/Experience:
Classifications and Qualifications for Care Managers
- CM I: An individual who has less than two (2) years of FTE experience in the mental health-related field providing direct mental health services.
- CM II: An individual who has at least two (2) years but less than four years of FTE experience in a mental health-related field providing direct mental health services.
- CM III: An individual who has at least four (4) years of full-time/equivalent (FTE) experience in a mental health-related field proving direct mental health services. Up to two (2) years of the four (4) years of experience can be substituted by years of education in a mental health-related field. There is a minimum requirement of two (2) years of actual work experience. *
*The education requirement is for a CM II or CM III - must be a minimum of two (2) years of education (60 semester or 90 quarter units) with a minimum of 12 semesters (18 quarter) units in a mental health-related subject area such as child development, social work, human behavior, rehabilitation, psychology, or alcohol and drug counseling. Must be able to provide written verification of experience upon hire.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must have at least two years driving experience and be able to drive. This position requires the use of a personal vehicle for business purposes. Employees must maintain liability insurance that meets or exceeds the state’s requirements.
- Must possess a valid CA Driver’s License, current auto insurance, and a clean DMV printout (no more than 3 points).
- Bilingual preferred, not required.
- Must pass a clear background check with CACI, DOJ & FBI.
- CPR and First Aid Certified.
- TB Exam and Physical at the time of employment.
This position may work within ALL other agency programs, consistent with their scope of practice, on a as needed basis. In addition, may require occasional flexible work schedule to meet the individualized needs of each client. Employees with direct responsibility for children who are under 18 years of age or who are not emancipated from the foster care system and who, in either case, are receiving 24 hour residential care, and employees of 24 hour residential care facilities for the elderly, blind or developmentally disabled individuals may be required to work on-duty meal periods without penalty when necessary to meet regulatory or approved program standards and one of the following two conditions is met:
- The residential care employees eats with residents during residents' meals and the employer provides the same meal at no charge to the employee; or
- An employee, except for the night shift, may exercise the right to have an off-duty meal period upon 30 days' notice to the employer for each instance where an off-duty meal is desired, provided that, there shall be no more than one off-duty meal period every two weeks.
Driving Requirement:
This position requires the use of a personal vehicle for business purposes and on-call rotation.

- Driving is a required function of this position. Employees must use a personal vehicle that meet all agency requirements, including maintaining liability insurance that meets or exceeds state requirements.
- Employees are responsible for ensuring the timely renewal of their vehicle insurance policies and providing updated documentation to the agency to remain in good standing and compliant with position requirements.
Training:
- RCS provides an in-depth onboarding and training orientation, which includes CPR/First Aid, Crisis Communication/Pro-ACT, Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, Collaborative Problem Solving, introductions to all RCS departments, and other valuable trainings.
