Responsibilities
As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for assisting adults with developmental disabilities in their daily lives. This includes assisting with complete care of dietary, hygiene, grooming, and dressing needs, as well as redirecting behaviors with various activities such as walking, reading, games, math, and computer projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for clients
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support clients with daily living skills, such as meal preparation and household management
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- CPR/First Aid, CPI, and DSP 1 certification
- Minimum 1 year of professional or personal experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses
