About the Role
This Direct Support Specialist role involves providing direct support to adults with developmental disabilities in their daily lives. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities include assisting clients with complete care of dietary, hygiene, grooming, and dressing needs, redirecting behaviors with various activities including walking, reading, games, math, and computer projects.
Key requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid, CPI, and DSP 1 Certification, as well as a minimum of 1 year of professional or personal experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses with challenging behaviors.
