About the Position
This Direct Support Specialist role requires assisting adults with developmental disabilities in their daily lives. The ideal candidate will be able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and must be able to lift 50lbs.
Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid, CPI, and DSP 1 Certification, as well as a minimum of 1 year of professional or personal experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses with challenging behaviors.
The job includes assisting clients with bathroom needs, changing clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed, preparing daily meals and assisting with clean-up, and picking up/dropping off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary).
