Purpose of Your Work:
As the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis working within Redwood Logistics (our shared services group) you will provide strategic insights that empower senior leadership to make data-driven decisions and optimize financial performance across all business units. You will lead a high-performing team responsible for forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting across various business units, including Brokerage, Managed Services, Platform Services, Warehousing, and Trucking. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership, providing actionable insights and recommendations to drive business growth and profitability.
How You Make a Difference Everyday:
Leadership and Financial Strategic Focus
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of financial analysts
- Provide clear direction and feedback to ensure the teams alignment with organizational goals and priorities
- Lead cross-functional projects and teams for key metrics, process improvement or strategic initiatives
- Responsibility for shaping financial strategy in line with overall company goals, providing insights and new ideas to financial executives
Driving interactions with Business Leaders around financial performance, acting as a trusted advisor to provide insights
- Focus on driving profitable growth and improving financial performance
- Highlight comparisons to budget, forecasts, prior periods -- and seek to understand the drivers and help to tell the story appropriately
- Report out on Monthly basis with Business Leaders
- Collaborate with business units to develop actionable solutions that drive financial performance and operational efficiency
- Always focus on the future and how to drive improvements with processes, tools, and interactions/communication
Responsibility for all Financial Reporting
- Prepare and present financial reports and performance dashboards for stakeholders to drive focus on the most meaningful metrics and drive greater value creation
- Monthly, Quarterly performance decks and letters; Board slide preparation
- Closely align with the accounting group to close the books and provide input and insight
- Own all Enterprise Financial Reporting to enterprise, currently use Vena as primary platform
- Administrator of the Vena Platform
- Lead continuous improvements in financial reporting processes, tools, and systems
Responsibility for the Annual budget process
- Lead and coordinate annual budget and forecast process for a complex multi-product platform that includes Brokerage, Managed Services, Platform Services, Warehousing and Trucking lines of business
- Structure, Timelines, and Technology (currently use Vena)
- Preparation of Board deck presentation with all support
Collaboration
- Will work closely with accounting and financial operations, Human Resources, and all key functional business owners as well as Business Unit owners
- Will work with our Private Equity owners to meet any requests
Youve Got This?
- Previous leadership experience in Financial Planning & Analysis: 7-10 years experience in field; minimum 4 years people management experience
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred
- Strategic thinker who understands how to shape tactical actions to support strategic initiatives
- Ability to develop and effectively direct team
- Ability to manage diverse tasks effectively
- Proficiency working with large datasets, MS excel, Powerpoint, and forecast modeling.
- Familiarity with Tableau, PowerBI or other analytical or presentation software preferred.
- Experience with Netsuite and Financial Reporting or Planning Software as Admin or modeler preferred
- Experience working with Vena or other budgeting software a plus
- Attention to detail
- Basic understanding of Internal Financial Control Standards

Work Schedule:
This position is exempt, full-time, and hybrid, where up to 3 days per week onsite is required. While this role primarily works Monday through Friday during normal business hours, some evening or weekend availability may be required.
Compensation Range:
$149,760-$183,040
This position is eligible to earn an annual incentive based on individual and company performance.
The estimated pay range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the geographical location in which the applicant lives and/or which they will be performing the job.
