Electrical Engineering Lead, New Product

You will be an early member of a new engineering team, responsible for driving the electrical design, development, and integration of a new high-power electromechanical product line at Redwood. In this role, you will immediately lead a small team of engineers, guiding them through complex systems integration, test engineering, and power electronics design challenges and ensuring successful project execution. You will collaborate closely with mechanical, firmware, and systems engineering teams. As the product builds momentum, you will build and lead the electrical engineering team across high power (10-100 kW) and low-power electronics, setting the foundation for scaling our product into high volume manufacturing.

You’re a leader and a doer, excited about working in a dynamic, fast-paced setting, and want to shape the electrical engineering function within a new department at Redwood.

Responsibilities will include :

• Lead and execute the electrical system design and development of a high-volume, high-power energy conversion product from concept to deployment, including electrical architecture, requirements authoring, system integration, signal-level electronics design, power electronics design, and integration with grid infrastructure.
• Design power conversion products, supervisory control modules and balance of system components, working closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure cost-effective, high-quality solutions.
• Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration of the overall product
• Be a hands-on engineering manager, accountable for project goals and timelines.
• Take a leadership role in recruiting, mentoring, and managing a high-performance electrical engineering team.
• Stay up to date on industry advancements and best practices, ensuring that our designs are at the forefront of technology and compliant with relevant standards.
• Contribute to a collaborative, fast-paced startup culture, where every team member plays a crucial role in achieving company milestones.
