Job summary:
Handle a high volume of phone calls, schedule all new and follow up patient appointments, and manage patient referrals.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Schedule all new and follow up patient appointments.
2. Coordinate and ensure appropriate authorizations are in place.
3. Interact with patients, physicians and other staff members within the clinic and at outside facilities providing accurate, timely and responsive information.
4. Coordinate processes and route all paperwork, as required, to meet physician and facility requirements.
5. Ensure efficient telephone communication.
6. Follow all clinic protocols and procedures for scheduling
7. Process incoming referrals through online fax portal and PM system
8. Demonstrate courtesy, compassion and helpfulness towards patients and their family members.
Qualifications:
1. Knowledge of medical office and scheduling procedures
2. Knowledge of medical terminology
3. Possess the ability to work productively, both independently and with other individuals.
4. Ability to maintain positive relationships with patients, employees and facility staff
5. Must be well-organized and detail-oriented.
Other Requirements:
1. Ability to prioritize responsibilities.
2. Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
3. Must be able to handle busy or stressful situations in a calm manner.
4. Ability to communicate effectively.
5. Knowledge of contracted insurance plans and procedures.
6. Knowledge of Referral processes
7. Knowledge of EMR/HER (Epic preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
