Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Pilates Instructor to join our new Pilates Studio in Watsonville, California. The ideal candidate will have be certified to teach Pilates on the reformer (mat certification a plus) and a commitment to helping clients achieve their fitness goals through evidence-based instruction. Pay scale is based on experience teaching, but new teachers are welcome to apply. We are an inclusive and affirming studio that welcomes bodies of all skill levels, abilities, and body types, so candidates should be ready to design class programs that are accessible, yet challenging, for all.
Duties
- Conduct engaging and effective Pilates classes for individuals and groups of varying skill levels.
- Develop customized workout programs tailored to the needs and goals of clients.
- Inspire and encourage clients to move and get stronger with the understanding that humans are made to move, and all movement is inherently safe.
- Monitor and assess client progress, providing feedback and adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized studio environment, ensuring all equipment is in good condition.
- Attend classes offered by other Redwood Pilates instructors.
- Work with lead instructor and other trainers to build a cohesive program model so clients know that whatever class they come to, they will be fully supported and adequately challenged.
Skills
- Ability to teach both traditional and non-traditional pilates repertoire in 'layers,' starting with the easiest and most achievable aspect of an exercise and progressing to the full expression or advanced versions of the exercises.
- Proficiency in program design that caters to diverse client needs and abilities.
- Ability to adapt programming based on client behavior.
- Basic understanding of how muscles get stronger and/or more flexible.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and motivate clients effectively.
- A passion for getting people stronger with a commitment to ongoing professional development in the field.
- Capacity to receive feedback and implement changes based on feedback.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 15 per week
