Position Summary
The Lead Quality Assurance Engineer will work cross-functionally within our organization. This role will work across multiple development teams and closely with the business to help orchestrate testing of cross-functional operations. This position is responsible for learning how multiple teams and products interact to deliver a larger end goal and, in that, helping to drive processes and procedures to ensure quality and timely delivery.
Responsibilities
As a Lead Quality Assurance Engineer, you will:
- Take over and own the processes for testing designated projects
- Isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes
- Document end-to-end system workflow in bite-sized, regression test format
- Conduct periodic reviews of team test activities and provide necessary feedback to management
- Work closely with development and business to fully test new features, defect fixes, and enhancements
- Create, execute, and maintain functional and regression test suites
- Collect detailed evidence of test case execution
- Report, track, and help determine priorities for enhancements and defects
- Work with Test Automation team to identify new functionality to be automated and included in automated regression libraries
- Actively support/troubleshoot escalated issues from both internal and external counterparts
Characteristics
You are a strong fit for this role if you have:
- 5 years of software quality assurance; fintech focus is a plus
- Experience working within an Agile / SAFe framework
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance concepts and methodologies (ISTQB CTFL certification preferred)
- Take pride in and ownership of your testing and the systems you test
- Hands on experience with API, functional, compatibility, acceptance/smoke testing, ad- hoc/exploratory, database, regression, staging testing
- Experience using issue tracking systems (Jira, Bugzilla, etc.) and test case management tools
(Xray, qTest, etc.)
- Mid-level SQL experience, including writing, reading, and understanding complex joins and query logic
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, startup-like environment
- Demonstrated problem solving skills, including the ability to solve complex problems in the face of time, pressure, and information/resource constraints
- Ability to manage continuously changing business needs
- Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this role is $104k - 127K annually. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors.
