This role requires familiarity with computers. This role requires occasional (light to moderate) lifting up to 50 pounds.
Available Position: Medical Assistant
Available Schedule: Saturday 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM and Sunday 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM.
- Additional shifts will be available on a per-diem basis with the possibility of moving to full time in the future.
Candidate requirements:
- 1 year minimum experience taking vital signs
- Injections certification or 1 year minimum experience with injections through a previous clinic
- CPR / BLS / First Aid Certification
- 1 year minimum experience in clinical medical assisting
- Proof of vaccination: Covid-19, TDAP, Flu, MMR, Varicella, and Hep B vaccinations are required for all staff per the state of California. TB screening dependent upon questionnaire.
Medical assistant responsibilities include:
- Rooming patients and taking vital signs
- Documenting patient histories on Electronic Medical Records
- Collecting specimens for lab work
- Cleaning patient areas and unloading inventory
- Answering phones and working the reception desk
- Giving test results and medical advice under the supervision and direction of a licensed medical provider.
- Assisting medical providers with procedures within California's Scope of Practice
- Helping create the best walk-in medical service Humboldt County can provide in a rapidly evolving small business.
