What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Supervisor position at REEB Millwork?
We are currently looking for a Logistics Supervisor at Reeb Millwork to join our VALUES based organization.
Responsibilities:
- Extensive knowledge of DOT and FMSCA regulations to ensure the safety of commercial motor vehicles and their operations.
- Enforce safety rules and regulations using the in-cab camera system utilizing video review and coaching sessions.
- Plan work assignments and equipment allocations to meet transportation, operations, or production goals.
- Confer with customers, supervisors, and other personnel to exchange information and to resolve problems.
- Direct workers in transportation department, such as moving, storing, and loading or unloading of materials.
- Resolve worker problems or collaborate with employees to assist in problem resolution.
- Monitor delivery report to ensure that it is being performed properly and that materials are being delivered as they should be.
- Recommend and implement measures to improve worker motivation, equipment performance, work methods, and customer services.
- Maintain or verify records of time, materials, expenditures, and driver activities.
- Interpret transportation and tariff regulations, shipping orders, safety regulations, and company policies and procedures for workers.
- Explain and demonstrate work tasks to new workers or assign training tasks to experienced workers.
- Prepare, compile, and submit reports on work activities, operations, production, and work-related accidents.
- Recommend or implement personnel actions, such as employee selection, evaluation, and rewards or disciplinary actions.
- Requisition needed personnel, supplies, equipment, parts, or repair services.
- Plan and establish transportation routes.
- Inspect or test vehicles/ equipment, to ensure that they are safe, free of defects, and consistent with specifications.
- Compute payroll, transportation, and personnel requirements.
- Dispatch personnel and vehicles in response to telephone or radio reports of emergencies.
- Schedule repairs and preventive maintenance of vehicles and other equipment, and ensure drivers are performing pre/post trip inspections.
- Assist workers in tasks such as loading or unloading vehicles.
- Drive vehicles or operate machines or equipment to complete work assignments or to assist workers.
- Responsible to investigate and complete a thorough accident investigation report with corrective action input and have an action plan developed to correct safety issues. This includes taking the injured employee to receive the proper medical attention.
- Participate in monthly site safety inspections, and conducting weekly toolbox safety talks.
- Supervise off shift operations on second & third shift.
- Conduct monthly driver safety awareness meetings.
- Other duties as assigned

Experience: Five years supervisor experience plus two years DOT experience. 7 years DOT experience with 2 years leadership responsibilities.
