The Reed Family Companies (RFC) Business Development Manager has a unique opportunity to directly influence RFC’s strategy, contribute to expanding our market presence, and collaborate with industry-leading teams. You’ll be at the forefront of driving innovation and creating value-based solutions for our customers. You will be part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team that values collaboration, identifying new business opportunities, implementing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, and facilitating community engagement. This role also involves mentoring the sales team in achieving strategic goals and aligning initiatives with RFC’s overall growth objectives. Success in this role will capitalize on the reputation of individual RFC subsidiary companies for excellence in heavy civil construction, affiliated materials, pavement maintenance, and equipment, as well as the extensive knowledge and experience of our team, all contributing to the achievement of our vision of "Better Roads, Better Lives”.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Business Development Manager will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams, collaborating with Sales and Business Development teams across RFC subsidiaries, and co-leading efforts with IT to implement CRM improvements.
- Provide guidance, performance management, and coaching to sales and cross-functional employees.
- Drive the execution of customer relationship initiative by facilitating the implementation of key account strategies and action plans across RFC subsidiaries.
- Develop a deep understanding of business unit customers, their needs, and the value our products/services provide to ensure their success.
- Proactively seek out and pursue profitable business opportunities by leveraging networks with industry and public works agencies, conducting market research, and fostering relationships with developers and other key stakeholders to promote RFC's integrated and sustainable solutions.
- Facilitate identified intra-company opportunities to promote and achieve advantages.
- Play an integral role in shaping the 1RFC strategic plan and aligning it with broader business goals.
- Lead the implementation, customization, and continuous improvement of the CRM system across RFC companies, ensuring seamless integration and user adoption to enhance sales processes and lead management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to simplify and streamline customer experience processes, contributing to greater efficiency and satisfaction.
- Develop and conduct training sessions for identified sales leaders on how to effectively use the HRMS Cascading Goals platform, ensuring timely updates and alignment with company objectives for accurate tracking and performance management.
- Lead bi-monthly Sales Synergy Team meetings, maintaining focus on key strategic objectives and cross-company collaboration.
- Organize and manage participation in relevant company, political, and charity fundraising events, ensuring the right sales team members and customers are involved in strengthening external relationships and drive community engagement.
Skills Required:
- Proven track record in driving profitable revenue growth and building business relationships across diverse industries.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to implement systems and processes that drive business outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a robust professional network across industries, leveraging relationships to create new business opportunities and strengthen existing partnerships.
- Advanced knowledge of the construction industry.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to lead discussions and facilitate training.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Ability to assess data, track performance metrics, and identify growth opportunities.
- Strong customer service orientation; high energy level.
- Skilled at developing and mentoring employees to enhance competencies and foster growth
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in construction industry, typically 10 years of progressive leadership experience in business development or marketing roles.

Salary : $130,000 - $180,000
