What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Project Manager position at Reeder General Contractors?
This Senior Project Manager role will manage CM at Risk projects from conception to completion. As a Senior Manager, you will lead a team through all phases of a major construction project, including cost accounting, billing procedures, procurement, scheduling, planning, and monitoring. This unique role will allow you to work closely between the Preconstruction and Operations teams and have an impact on our members and the delivery of our processes and procedures.
You will develop strong relationships with owners, architects, and subcontractors to work through design, budgets, scheduling bidding, purchasing and management of all aspects of the projects. You will collaborate with our Preconstruction team to prepare take-offs and budgets. Your responsibilities for our Operations team will require you to develop construction schedules and plan site logistics with input from our team members.
Responsibilities:
- Active participation in new project activities
- Subcontract & supplier negotiations
- Scheduling and coordination of subcontracts
- Project cost control/budget management
- Knows and understands the requirements of owner's contract, including bonds, fees, notifications, schedules, reporting and costs
- Review all project documents for constructability and accuracy
- Building materials procurement
- Develop bid scope for trade packages & vet subcontractors to ensure compliance with bid scope.
- Use of project management & scheduling software consistently & accurately
- Prepare/Conduct all Owner/Architect/Contractor Meetings
- Estimate and manage competitive sealed proposals
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors of Science degree in Construction Management or related degree
You must have 5 years’ experience working on small to mid-sized commercial construction projects
Previous experience with CM at Risk Projects in K-12 Market
Strong organizational and project management skills
Industry knowledge, ability to read blueprints
Outstanding customer service skills
Manage multiple projects at once with minimal oversight
Detail oriented and strong communications skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Have preexisting local subcontractor relationships.
Strong cost management background
Strong scheduling background
Mentorship, leadership and training skills
Team Player; support all efforts towards on-time project completion
Desire to learn and grow under executive management
Experience with Procore, Microsoft Project
