Job Responsibilities :
The Accountant will manage the accounting for the private credit arm of the company, Reef Private Credit (RPC), and work closely with and report to Canyon Accounting's Managing Director and Controller performing the following functions :
- Transaction management of funds for new and existing loans, including recording of loan reserves, disbursing loan servicing fees, borrower payments, and lender principal and interest payments
- Manage draws related to debt deals
- Manage intern(s) who assist in making draw and lender payments
- Perform accounting for all new loan funding's and payoffs
- Manage reserve balances
- Assist in reviewing borrower statements
- Prepare and check accuracy of payoff statements
- Maintain accounting books for various foreclosed loan and HOA entities
- Assist in month-end close tasks and preparation of monthly financial reports
- Assist in year-end financial statements preparation and other audit requests related to RPC
- Provide data summary and ad hoc reporting as necessary.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.
- Improve and automate processes and reports
