Position Overview:
Reef Private Equity is looking to add a Bookkeeper who will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records for our assets based in Park City, Utah. This role will work closely with the finance and accounting teams to support day-to-day financial operations, including tracking investments, managing cash flows, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and detailed financial records for the firm and its portfolio entities, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Post all transactions related to investments, income, and expenses into the firm's accounting software.
- Track and manage capital contributions, distributions, and investment activity for each portfolio company and investor.
- Monitor and reconcile cash balances, investment transactions, and financial instruments in the firm's operating accounts.
- Assist with cash forecasting and reporting to ensure proper liquidity and cash management for operations and investments.
- Process invoices, track expenses, and ensure proper coding for accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Support the tax reporting process by preparing necessary schedules and documents for tax filings.
- Assist assets and projects with accounting and bookkeeping functions as needed, ensuring consistency with the firm's standards and policies.
- Track and report on financial performance metrics for portfolio companies.
- Help maintain and enforce internal financial controls, ensuring accuracy and compliance with firm policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of financial documentation for regulatory filings, audits, and due diligence processes.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team, including organizing financial documentation, data entry, and report preparation.
- Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and project work as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- 1 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, or similar) and familiarity with Microsoft Excel and financial modeling tools.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
