Job Summary:
Canyon Accounting, a subsidiary of Reef, provides accounting services to all of Reef's corporate, private equity and private credit entities. They provide a wide range of accounting and financial services offerings, including bookkeeping, controller and CFO services, in addition to tax preparation, planning, and entity structuring consulting. The team has decades of experience and prides itself in providing the highest level of service at a competitive rate and going above compliance services to adding tangible value to clients.
The Staff Accountant will work closely with and report to Canyon Accounting's Managing Director and Controller to perform functions that will primarily support EXMAR, Reef's internal hospitality property management business.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain accounting books primarily for property and hospitality management entities, as well as other operating real estate investments
- Assist in month-end close tasks and preparation of monthly financial reports
- Assist in year-end financial statements preparation and other audit requests
- Issue invoice payments and manage intercompany and related-party billing tasks
- Reconcile bank accounts and assist in company credit card management
- Provide data summary and ad hoc reporting as necessary.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.
- Improve and automate processes and reports
- Assist in year-end tax financial statements and other report preparation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is required
- 1-2 years of experience in related field; experience working in real estate, property management or hospitality accounting is highly preferred
- Experience working with private equity funds is preferred but not required
- Experience with property management accounting
- Proficient in Xero or similar ERP systems
