Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, customer-focused, and dependable individual to join our team as a Starter/Player Assistant at Cutalong Golf Club. In this dual role, you will be responsible for greeting and assisting golfers, ensuring smooth course operations, and maintaining the pace of play on the course. Your presence will help create a positive experience for all members and guests, ensuring they have a safe and enjoyable round of golf.
General responsibilities include:
- Greet golfers upon arrival and provide information about the course, policies, and tee times.
- Provide outstanding customer service and engage with golfers to enhance their overall experience at the course.
- Check in golfers and confirm reservations, ensuring that they are ready to begin their round on time.
- Provide golfers with necessary materials, such as scorecards, pencils, and directions to tee boxes.
- Ensure that all golfers adhere to course rules and guidelines, particularly regarding dress code and behavior.
- Monitor the pace of play on the course, ensuring that golfers keep up with the group ahead.
- Politely encourage players to maintain an appropriate pace and address slow play when necessary.
- Patrol the course to ensure safety and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Provide assistance with course-related questions, such course layout, practice facilities, tee boxes, restrooms, or drink stations.
- Assist with the maintaining course rules and policies, including cart usage, course etiquette, and tee time compliance.
- Report any course maintenance issues or damages found to the golf course management team.
- Ensure all guests have a positive experience by addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
- Communicate with other staff members (e.g., pro shop, range attendant, and maintenance team) to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of the practice facilities, including setting the range, prepping short game areas, and any on-course signage or event/tournament set up.
- Perform other related duties as required by the management team.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a customer service or golf-related position is a plus, but not required.
- Must have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and be willing to work in various weather conditions.
- Comfortable working outdoors and walking the course for extended periods.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand, walk, or bend for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license is required for operating golf carts.
