Rees Broome PC, a top law firm in Virginia, is seeking an associate with 2-4 years of collections experience to support our community association and HOA clients in the Community Association practice group.

Responsibilities:
• Independently manage a caseload of 250-400 active collection cases from initial intake to closing files
• Work closely with paralegals, administrative assistants, and Shareholders on collection case load
• Review and interpret client documents, drafting legal opinions for Shareholder review
• Handle court appearances in multiple jurisdictions and abatement court cases for covenant enforcement
• Communicate regularly with community association clients and management agents, providing status reports
• Manage billing for hourly time and task codes for fixed fee collections work
• Attend meetings at client community associations to oversee elections and Board meetings
Qualifications:
• JD from accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in Virginia
• 2-4 years of collections experience
• Experience with collections, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act compliance, district court, and post-judgment enforcement
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Legal project management experience helpful
• Prior experience managing paralegals and staff
