Job Summary
Rees Scientific is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Junior Calibration Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will primarily perform calibration activities on temperature and humidity devices to ensure they meet industry standards and maintain accurate measurements. We are looking for a team player with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to excellence. Experience in other types of calibration is a plus.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform calibration and troubleshooting of temperature and humidity devices in accordance with established procedures and standards.
- Accurately read and record calibration results, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Assist in ensuring calibration equipment and tools are in proper working condition.
- Support senior calibration specialists in complex calibration tasks and projects.
- Conduct routine checks and inspections on devices to identify potential issues or needs for recalibration.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Demonstrate reliability and a strong work ethic in all tasks and responsibilities.
- Actively participate in team meetings and collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding calibration status, issues, and resolutions.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and development in calibration skills and techniques.
Job Requirements and Experiences
- Basic understanding of calibration principles, particularly for temperature and humidity devices.
- Experience with other types of calibration (pressure, flow, electrical, etc.) is a plus.
- Demonstrated reliability, problem-solving skills, and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to take and execute direction effectively.
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to learning and adapting to new calibration techniques and equipment
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Experience in a laboratory or calibration environment.
- Knowledge of industry standards and guidelines for calibration such as ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, ASTM, ANSI.
- Familiarity with calibration software and tools.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in a technical field is preferred.
