We are working in close partnership with a special needs school catering to pupils from primary through to secondary age with SEMH needs . The school provides a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where every student is valued, encouraged, and supported to thrive. As a Learning Support Assistant , you will play a key role in building confidence, fostering independence, and helping pupils develop both academically and emotionally.
The Role : Learning Support Assistant
This is a full-time, long-term Learning Support Assistant position, working Monday to Friday from 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 00 PM . The role involves working 1 : 1 and in small groups , ensuring students feel safe, confident, and supported in their learning. In addition, the position includes community outreach work , so a full UK driving licence and access to your own car are essential.
Key Responsibilities for the Learning Support Assistant :
- Providing tailored 1 : 1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and self-esteem
- Assisting with classroom activities and supporting engagement in learning
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional well-being
- Taking part in community outreach work , helping students develop life skills beyond the classroom
