Cleaning Specialist
Job Location – Pecos, TX (Reeves County Recreation Center, aka “the Rec”)
Reports to: Cleaning & Maintenance Coordinator/Director

Position Overview:
Seeking dynamic individual for a Cleaning Specialist role working with various populations and clientele at our state of the art and newly constructed Recreation Center. The Rec will pioneer and promote the integrated health model in providing a seamless integration of performance training, fitness and wellness, nutrition, rehabilitation, recovery, childcare, and recreational sport activities all under one roof.
The ideal candidate will have the professional opportunity to advance to a full-time position based on the performance, management, and success of the Cleaning and Maintenance Department and the Rec as a whole.
Responsibilities and job functions include, but are not limited to:
- Be proactive and help maintain a clean and safe environment for all staff, members, and guests.
- Assist in all aspects of the Rec's cleaning, stocking, and preventative maintenance, including maintaining documentation of all related areas, supplies, and equipment.
- Help ensure all daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annual, and annual cleaning tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Rec's various integrated services, programs, and staff.
- Collaborate and work in a holistic team environment that includes Performance and Fitness, Nutrition, Physical Therapy, Massage, Aquatics, Childcare, and Recreational Sports.
- Help ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all members and guests.
- Help conduct various client engagements, educational activities, and events.
- Act as a professional liaison of the Rec and provide a warm and welcoming environment for all members and guests.
- Follow established policies and procedures set forth by the Executive Director.
- Maintain professional credentials as required, including but not limited to, attending necessary continuing education courses.
- Cross train with other departments within the Rec’s purview.
- Some travel may be required.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates applying for this position should be comfortable in various environmental conditions and be able to lift at least 50 pounds unassisted repeatedly throughout the workday. The physical requirements of this job require frequent standing, walking, demonstrating, and assisting as necessary.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Professional experience in providing Cleaning and Janitorial work in a related setting.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Currently hold First Aid & CPR w/ AED certification (will certify in-house).
- Strong customer service skills where servicing the “client” is top priority.
- Essential knowledge and skills of using various cleaning solutions and equipment.
- Excellent computer skills including MS Office or related products.
Preferred:
- Trade School or Associate's in a related field.
- Experience in a Recreation, Gym, Clinic, or Health Club environment.
Classification:
- This is a part-time position with the opportunity to advance to a full-time position.
Pay:
- Starting at $15 per hour.
