Responsibilities & Duties:
- Must be hands-on with employees in a labor-intensive environment.
- Ability to direct and delegate work to packing house personnel.
- Oversight of packers and machinery used to pack produce.
- Completes shipping & receiving documents and food safety documentation in a timely, efficient manner.
- Must have experience as a supervisor overseeing warehousing or packing.
- Manages schedule of packing house personnel.
- Inventory control management including labeling and bar coding.
- Works directly with the sales manager to control expenses, including shrink, labor and overhead cost.
- Ensure the safety of all employees.
- Experience developing appropriate policies and procedures to ensure compliance within manufacturing, operational practices, applicable laws and GAP/food safety requirements.
- Assure local and national regulatory compliance including but not limited to OSHA, USDA, FDA, GAP, GMP.
- Guarantees the facility and equipment are properly maintained and regularly scheduled facility and equipment programs are executed. Maintains proper housekeeping and sanitation of the facility.
- Proficient skills in using computer-based systems, programs and reports.
- Basic Computer skills specifically Windows, Email, Word and Excel.
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred OR equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered.
- Clean driving record and Valid Driver’s License required.
- Preferred: Willingness and ability to obtain a Class B driver’s license.
- Experience operating a forklift or pallet jack.
- Interpersonal skills required.
- Must have the ability to communicate basic work directions in Spanish.
- Highly Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish and English to communicate with Spanish speaking workforce and English speaking management team.
- Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- To work nights, weekends, holidays and 60 hours a week as business needs arise during harvesting season.
