About Us:
Reeves-Sain Drugstore is a community pharmacy that has been open and serving our community for over 30 years. We are focused on providing the best care to our patients on a deeper and more personal level as well as developing and nurturing relations with physicians and providers in our Murfreesboro community and its surrounding areas. We are a hybrid retail-compounding pharmacy and offer a variety of services from prescription filling, Hormone Testing, vaccines, and Compounding. We compound many forms of prescription medication for our patients both human and animal. Some of these include Hormone Replacement Therapy in creams, topicals, oral, and other dosage forms, capsules, flavored liquid suspensions, sublingual lozenges, lollipops and gummies for our pediatric patients, weight loss, fertility, pain relief and neuropathy, veterinary medications, and more. We also have a great selection of items and products in our retail store front and gift shop. If you are picking up a prescription and have some time, we encourage you to stop by the Soda Shop and try a delicious malt or milkshake and dine in or grab a bite for the road.
Our retail business hours are Monday-Friday from 8 am- 5:30 pm and Saturdays from 9 am- 1 pm
Our Compounding hours are Monday-Friday 8 am- 4:30 pm (no compounding on weekends)
About this Job:
Pharmacy assistants handle more administrative tasks within a pharmacy. While they may count medication or label prescription bottles, their scope of practice is not as in depth as that of a certified pharmacy technician or pharmacist. You will be assisting the compounding team in tasks to ensure daily operations run smoothly so patients get their medication in a timely manner.
This is currently a part-time position with much potential for growth and possible full-time position with certification and in accordance with business growth and volume.
Hours:
12 pm to 5 pm Monday-Friday
Pay:
Commensurate with Experience
-Registered Technician meeting all basic requirements
- $17.00 - $18.00 /hour
-Certified Technician meeting requirements
- $18.00 - $20.00 /hour
-Certified Technician with Compounding Experience upon evaluation and full-time offer.
- $18.50-$21.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Stock lab shelves.
- Monitor inventory levels.
- Maintain updated patient files.
- Fill patient scripts and label compounded medication.
- Answer pharmacy phone calls directed to the compounding lab.
- Take customer prescriptions to pharmacists or a pharmacy technician.
- Place supplies for orders and pharmaceuticals.
- Package shipments and ensure method of payment, address and patient information is accurate.
- Get prescriptions ready for customer pickup once they're prepared by the pharmacist or pharmacy technician.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-Basic (retail) Pharmacy Knowledge
-Compounding knowledge and experience
-CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice)
-Data Entry
-Math skills for calculating days supply, dosage forms, weights and measurements
-Supply experience for stock control and inventory handling
-Experience with PioneerRX or other related pharmacy systems
-Up-to-date on current state and federal regulations in regards to pharmacy and compounding.
-Customer service skills and good phone etiquette
Qualifications:
-High school Diploma
-Pharmacy Technician State License in Tennessee
-Minimum 1-2 years of prior pharmacy experience (high preference for compounding knowledge and experience)
-Pharmacy Technician Certification (preferred)
-Degree not required, but highly favorable in pharmacy, chemistry, health sciences or related areas
