Job description
Referment is working with a leading London based hedge fund, known to be at the forefront of technology and innovation. They have an exciting opportunity available in their quant engineering team for an experienced software engineer with extensive distributed computing and distributed storage experience to come in and help rebuild a number of key components of their business critical research platforms used by traders, quants and analysts in the front office.
This is a relatively new team and the work is totally greenfield, presenting an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to work on hugely impactful projects that directly support the revenue generating business teams within the fund. You will work with the latest technologies involving the use of a number of tools and programming languages and this role would be suited to a passionate technologist with a background in software engineering and storing large amounts of data at scale.
Key Requirements
- Expert knowledge of data streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka and Apache Flink
- Extensive experience with distributed programming and building distributed systems (Spark, Dask, Airflow etc)
- In depth knowledge of distributed storage and designing processes to store data at scale (SQL and NoSQL)
- Strong experience with one or more object orientated programming language such as Python, Java, C# or C
- Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of Test Driven Developer (TDD) and CI / CD tools
- You must be eligible to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship
