Referment have partnered with a fast growing RegTech company to find a Pre-Sales Engineer for their New York office. Our client is one of the most technologically advanced players in the global RegTech market and expanding their US operation. As a key part of the go-to-market function, you’ll work closely with their sales, product, and engineering teams to support the full sales cycle. You will be responsible for understanding client requirements, delivering tailored product demonstrations, and designing scalable solutions that solve complex compliance challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical expert and trusted advisor in the sales process.
- Lead discovery sessions with prospective clients to understand business requirements and compliance workflows.
- Deliver customised product demonstrations that address client-specific use cases and regulatory pain points.
- Create and present technical proposals and solution architectures.
- Collaborate with the product team to communicate client feedback and influence the product roadmap.
- Support RFP/RFI responses with accurate and compelling technical content.
- Help build proof-of-concept (PoC) environments and assist with initial technical implementation guidance.
- Stay current with evolving regulatory requirements, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in a pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting role.
- Strong understanding of the financial services industry, particularly in areas such as compliance, KYC, AML, trade surveillance, or regulatory reporting.
- Proven ability to translate complex technical features into business value.
- Experience with SaaS platforms, APIs, and data integration technologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills – both written and verbal.
- Comfortable engaging with C-level stakeholders and technical teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience at a RegTech, FinTech, or compliance-focused software company.
- Familiarity with regulatory regimes such as SEC, CFTC, FINRA, MiFID II, or EMIR.
- Hands-on experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python), SQL, or data transformation tools.
