Reuters News is looking for an experienced and ambitious U.S. Corporate Regulation Reporter (Level 1 Journalist) based in Washington, DC.
The successful candidate will break news on Elon Musk’s new DOGE office and the new President’s tech policy priorities with a focus on Big Tech and AI. Our readers want to know more about DOGE’s mandate to advise on streamlining the US government, regulations, and the federal budget. This position will also cover new AI policy and any efforts to change Section 230.
The ideal reporter will build sources within the tech policy community, within DOGE, and among corporate lobbyists.
About the Role
As our U.S. Corporate Regulation Reporter (Level 1 Journalist) , you will :
- Develop a diverse range of sources that lead to scoops
- Break exclusive news
- Lead and / or reinforce coverage of major news
- Report aggressively to hold companies, lobbyists, and regulators accountable
- Write deeply-reported stories with detailed context on tech policy
