Job Qualifications
- Current RN license with a minimum of 5 years nursing experience.
- This is a salaried position with normal business hours and a rotating on-call schedule. There is an occasional need for after-hours availability (drop in visits).
- Long-term care experience preferred, but not required.
- Leadership or supervisory experience required.
- Must possess strong leadership skills and be able to effectively motivate and lead teams.
- Must be well-organized and detail-oriented.
- Ability to maintain high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all aspects of position, including difficult situations.
- Strong customer service skills and positive attitude
- Must be able to handle tough or difficult conversations with staff, residents, families, etc.
- Must be good at conflict resolution
Job Responsibilities
- The DON will independently manage one home plus setting (12 residents) while overseeing nursing operations/staffing across our four other Wichita homes.
- Will support our nurse manager in Hutchinson with tasks as needed
- Development and oversight of policies and procedures
- Coordinates and provides educational opportunities for staff
- Ensures compliance with mandatory trainings for staff
- Will work with the Director of Operations to ensure a safe working environment that meets all state regulations
- Oversees the delivery of quality care to our residents
- Assists with managing staff schedules and ensuring adequate staffing coverage for each home each shift
- Reviews and resolves resident/family complaints in collaboration with the nurse manager
- Other duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
