Reframe Systems is on a mission to build low carbon housing at a massive scale. We design and manufacture our modular buildings in Andover, MA. We serve as general contractor on most of our projects. We have plans for regional and national expansion. Our highly-automated factory production system is driving down cost, delivery time, and embodied carbon for ADUs and multifamily housing.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a Residential Construction Estimator to help us budget and plan our projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and estimating, with the ability to analyze construction documents and project plans. This role requires extensive outreach to new and existing vendors and subcontractors. Strong preference for individuals with MA construction experience and subcontractor networks.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and contracts to determine scope of work.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
- Develop preliminary project schedules.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data for pricing.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing.
- Monitor project budgets and provide updates on cost variances throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations for potential clients.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to each project.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in residential or commercial construction estimating.
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, or other estimating software.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate pricing.
- Ability to effectively negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for collaboration with team members and clients.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and safety
- A degree in Construction Management or a related field is a plus.
