Summary :
The Forklift Operator will be responsible for safely operating gas or electric forklifts within various departments, buildings, and grounds. This role involves collecting and delivering a diverse range of materials, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and managing inventory effectively. Forklift certification is required.
Responsibilities :
- Safely operate gas or electric forklifts across departments and facilities.
- Load and unload trucks for incoming and outgoing materials.
- Inspect incoming materials for shortages or damage.
- Adhere to established safety procedures while collecting and delivering a variety of materials.
- Deliver materials to designated work areas and stack them appropriately in storage areas.
- Operate palletizer equipment and manage computer systems for production data and loading.
- Conduct cycle counts on materials, ingredients, and finished goods.
- Participate in required communication meetings.
- Organize pallets in a manner that allows easy inspection for damage.
- Ensure products and pallets are checked for damage and replaced as necessary.
- Prepare products and load trucks as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area before ending your shift.
- Follow FIFO policies for product management and storage.
- Ensure accurate completion of all necessary paperwork (such as shipping documents, receipts, transfers, holds, etc.).
- High School Diploma / GED or 1-3 months of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Forklift Certification is mandatory.
- Ability to navigate manufacturing, inventory, and database software effectively.
- Work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Availability to work any assigned shift.
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 70 pounds.
- Able to push or pull up to 40 pounds as necessary.
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods on concrete surfaces.
- Capable of repeatedly kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching, climbing, and stooping as needed to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Successful completion of a post-offer physical assessment, drug screen, and background check is required.
