Director of Finance

The Opportunity

The Director of Finance is responsible for managing the company’s financial planning, reporting, and analysis, and will play a key role in driving the financial strategy of the company. This role requires a strong background in finance, excellent leadership skills, and a hands-on approach to managing the financial health of the company.

Reports to: VP of Operations

Hours: 40 per week

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Strategy and Planning:
• Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with overall business goals.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, including long-term financial planning.
• Analyze and report on financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Collaborate with the executive team to support strategic initiatives with financial insights.
• Financial Management:
• Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial statements and management reports.
• Manage cash flow and forecasting to maintain financial stability and support growth.
• Monitor financial performance against budget and suggest corrective actions when needed.
• Compliance and Risk Management:
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including tax reporting and audits.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
• Manage the relationship with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
• People Management:
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, ensuring continuous professional growth.
• Foster a collaborative and results-oriented finance team culture.
• Set clear goals and performance metrics for the finance team and provide regular feedback.
• Technology and Systems:
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and tools.
• Leverage technology to improve financial reporting, forecasting, and decision-making processes.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in financial management for technology companies.
• Executive Leadership:
• Collaborate with other C-Suite executives within the organization.
• Attend weekly planning meetings and Leadership L10.
• Schedule weekly department meetings (L10).
• Develop and implement quarterly ROCKS goals, using SMART format and metrics.
• Growing the internal culture and being an example of what Refreshed Tech’s culture embodies.
• Making crucial decisions to help effectively scale Refreshed Tech to success.
• Creating and assisting with future business plans, contracts, and agreements.
• Mentoring and growing employees within and outside of your department.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• 8 years of experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in a technology or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of financial management, accounting principles, and financial regulations.
• Experience with financial software and ERP systems; proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing financial strategies that drive business growth.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
