Starting Pay: $16.38/HR

Final compensation dependent on location, education, experience

Summary:

The Foam Machine Operator is responsible for the proper overall operation of a Foam Machine for the entire plant including filling the machine, troubling shooting issues pertaining to foam and monitoring inventory.

Examples of Duties:

• Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Completes tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
• Fills Foam Machine with the proper mixture of raw materials and mixes materials to proper consistency. Will require the use of some mathematical skills, written communication skills, and concentration and attention. Includes selecting the correct materials to mix foam. Involves the use of hands, arms, and feet to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Visually monitors foam mixture daily by doing bag shots on every foam head to ensure it has proper consistency and adjusting the mixture if necessary. Also monitors the tank levels and mixes more foam as needed throughout the day.
• Takes inventory of raw materials and orders materials when needed, which requires the use of written communication skills and some mathematical skills.
• Troubleshoots any issues with the foam or Foam Machine, including adjusting mixture to ensure proper consistency of foam.
• Responsible for adhering to all standard operating procedures to promote the safety of all employees, including wearing safety gear when required; hearing warning sounds, and recognizing potentially dangerous situations in an indoor plant environment.

Education & Essential Qualifications:

• Must have the ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to properly utilize provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including eye protection, hearing protection, half-face and/or Powered Air Purifying Respirators, protective clothing, and fall restraint harnesses.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week and be available for overtime when necessary.
• Available for training on various shifts.
• Consistently/Frequently - see (vision), hear, ability to read and write, ability to interpret information, basic math, reading, and writing in English.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent attendance record and work history.
• A strong mechanical aptitude is highly preferred.
• Vocational training in manufacturing.
• One year of equivalent experience.
