Manager, Projects and Compliance

Summary:
Responsible for executing the RSG Design Engineering strategies/business plan and ensure products meet the need of the organization’s customers. Will also manage the company’s Compliance and new product engineering, materials management and developing project plans, creating master project schedules, scheduling the product delivery process and milestones.
Examples of Duties:
- Manages Engineering Laboratory and Product Management efforts, including supervision of the Engineering force and the development of sales strategies and tactics.
- Serve as a key member of the engineering management team that sets the company’s strategic direction.
- Develop strategic planning for the direction and control of product development activities.
- Formulate long-term objectives and standards of performance of the department.
- Ensure that product development is focused on meeting and exceeding the customer requirements.
- Monitors and collaborates with regulatory agencies for current, past, and future projects in a manner that keeps the company up to date and in good standing with said agency.
- Maintains yearly regulatory licensing/compliance. Specifically for state and local requirements for customer projects.
- Establishes systems to identify, prioritize, evaluate, plan and implement product changes to meet customer needs.
- Ensure attainment of performance, production, and cost objectives on all products and schedules, including hiring, training, developing, and managing performance.
- Administers and directs the establishment and modification of product specifications, bills of material, manufacturing processes, sources of supply and testing standards.
- Develops and administers budgets for materials management and engineering units within appropriate guidelines.
- Prepares and updates project financial projections. Manages revenues and costs to stay within project budget and achieve improved profitability, cash flow and other financial objectives.
- Prepares verbal and written analyses, reports, recommendations, and presentations regarding areas of responsibility as directed.
- Identifies value in terms of the customer perspective and works to get designs that most cost effectively achieve customer value.
- Manages the design team’s KPIs and uses them to determine if departmental changes are needed.
Professional & Personal Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field.
- Demonstrated team building and leadership skills.
- “Out of the box thinker” must be key driver contributing to the products roadmap and willing to take innovative product risk while balancing the road map for on time deliverables.
- Manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities.
- Strong relationship management, strategy development, project management, problem solving and change management skills.
- Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, strong in building relationships, team player, dynamic, creative with the ability to work on own initiative.
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
- Considerable knowledge of financial reporting and analysis tools used in business management.
- Considerable knowledge of sales and marketing principles and methods.
- Considerable knowledge of agency standards which apply to refrigeration products.
- Considerable technical knowledge of refrigeration engineering.
- Experience in interacting with customers.
- Skill in planning and implementing complex projects.
- Skill in managing complex business operations through multiple layers of supervision.
- Skill in interpersonal relationships as needed to maintain successful relationships with customers and coworkers at all levels.
- Ability to stay current on advances in refrigeration engineering and potential product applications.
- Ability to resolve complex problems creatively and drive innovation in the organization.
- Ability to reach sound judgments in ambiguous or novel situations where few guides and precedents are available.
