The Compressor Rebuild Technician is a Service technician who performs refrigeration compressor rebuilds at the RD&S facility. May also be required to perform compressor rebuilds at customer sites in emergency situations. Works closely with RD&S service to ensure compressor rebuilds are completed in accordance with OEM standards and company procedures. Prepares all required reports and documentation on the rebuild service, including tear down and rebuild photos, etc.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly work assigned in the rebuild Work Orders (WO).
- Submit detailed reports for work completed per rebuild proposal/contracts.
- Propose resolutions for any additional issues identified during disassembly and inspection. Provide information as necessary for Service Coordinator and Service Sales follow-up action with customer.
- Complete additional rebuild scope as approved by client and RD&S service managers.
- Keep Service Coordinator informed of work status by submitting all time / Work Order reports daily, including accurate reporting of work completed and new materials required for additional work order assignment.
- Ensure Service Coordinator has proper information to complete Work Orders for client billing in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintain an organized and clean workshop that promotes safe working conditions.
- Maintain knowledge on use and operation of all tools/equipment needed to complete the rebuild work and advise of any additional tools needed to complete work properly/safely.
- Maintain current licenses required to perform the specified service.
- Perform other duties as required by service manager.
- Be dignified, courteous, clean and in RD&S provided apparel when working.

- High School Diploma
- Technical/trade school certificate in a mechanical field.
- Must have strong mechanical aptitude and have a strong drive to learn & grow in the refrigeration service field.
- Refrigeration compressor OEM training for equipment rebuild service a plus.
- Must complete all required safety and equipment training to perform the services RD&S offers to clients.
- Possess customer service skills with a strong desire to document work completed in a presentable format electronically.
- Ability to work with tablet-based service ticket software system to complete service documentation assigned in daily Work Orders (WO).
- A valid driver's license is required to operate a company vehicle for occasional emergency vendor parts/machine transportation.
