A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

The Human Resources Generalist will work closely with HR Management to support the day-to-day operations of the human resources department. You will also have the ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships, assist with maintaining a positive work environment, and ensure employee progression & engagement. Other responsibilities include :

  • Be a culture ambassador and employee advocate
  • Assist HR Director and hiring managers with full life cycle recruiting efforts including job postings, screening applicants, and scheduling interviews using an ATS
  • Oversee the onboarding process, conduct new hire orientations and exit interviews, and administer employee data via HRIS system
  • Assist in communication and interpretation of employee handbook, benefits, policies and procedures
  • Update and maintain job descriptions and employee handbook
  • Support HR related engagement activities to include training programs, committees, rewards, workshop, and seminars
  • Process background checks and drug screenings
  • Support employees with benefit related questions, claim discrepancies, and conflict resolution
  • Oversee sensitive and / or confidential employee information and provide excellent customer service to all employees
  • Assist with the annual and quarterly review process using the automated performance management system
  • Perform special projects as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 2 years of Human Resources (HR) experience
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or distribution environment a plus
  • Experience with full life cycle recruiting
  • PHR / SHRM certification preferred
  • Previous experience with employee benefit plan administration
  • Human Resources Information System (HRIS) knowledge, Paychex a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Internal and external customer service experience
  • Excellent communication and people skills, cultural awareness
  • Aptitude to problem solve and thorough knowledge of HR best practices, policies, and employment law
  • Stong attention to detail, good organizational skills with ability to prioritize
  • Capable of handling multiple projects independently and good troubleshooting skills
