Job Summary:
The Senior Manager of Food Service Strategy, Insights & Support is a critical role responsible for driving operational excellence, leveraging data-driven insights, and creating actionable reports and tools to optimize performance. This position involves developing comprehensive presentations, updating food service tools, and preparing weekly and monthly updates. Reporting to the Vice President of Food Service, the role collaborates closely with the Director of Food Service and the Director of Operations Planning. The Senior Manager supervises a team of six field trainers, supports acquisition integration, contributes to program design, and ensures seamless execution of strategic initiatives.

Senior Manager of Food Service Strategy, Insights & Support
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Human Resources
• Responsible for recruiting and hiring management-level personnel, and ensures restaurants are adequately staffed.
Financial
• Monitors and proactively minimizes perishable food waste.
• Responsible for overall profitability of restaurant locations including sales, gross profit dollars and margins, shrink, payroll, and expenses.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Data-Driven Insights: Proficient in Power BI, PDI, Excel, and Zenput for analytics, reporting, and decision-making.
• Food Service Expertise: Deep understanding of industry standards, food safety, and compliance requirements.
• Communication and Collaboration: Effective in liaising across corporate, regional, and field teams to ensure alignment and goal achievement.
• Project Management: Strong organizational skills to lead projects from conception to execution within timelines and budgets.
• Technology Integration: Experience implementing and managing tools and workflows to optimize processes and reporting.
• Training and Development: Proven ability to design, deliver, and manage training programs for field teams.
• Operational Excellence: Skilled in supporting multi-unit operations, enhancing efficiency, and driving performance improvement.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Utilize Power BI, PDI, Excel, and Zenput to analyze data, create dashboards, and compile actionable presentations.
• Manage and update food-specific tools and templates to ensure accuracy and usability for field teams.
• Prepare ad hoc analyses and presentations for leadership to support decision-making and strategic planning.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
• Collaborate with the VP of Food Service, Director of Food Service, and Director of Operations Planning to align food service strategies with organizational goals.
• Contribute to planning and execution of initiatives, including acquisition support, program rollouts, and store remodels.
• Develop scalable processes and solutions that enhance operational efficiency and ensure consistency across locations.
Operational Support:
• Act as a central resource for multi-unit operations, providing tools, guidance, and solutions to support regional and district teams.
• Partner with the Director of Operations Planning and Innovation to enhance tool utilization and program success.
• Assist in acquisition integration efforts, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with company standards.
• Conduct regular reporting on operational insights, including sales, margin, food cost, and production tool utilization.
Training and Development:
• Supervise and mentor a team of six field trainers, ensuring they have the tools and resources to succeed.
• Oversee the design and delivery of training programs focused on food safety, program execution, and operational excellence.
• Continuously update training materials and methods based on feedback and performance data.
Project Management:
• Manage end-to-end execution of projects, including timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful project outcomes within budget and timelines.
Food Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure all site managers maintain appropriate food safety certifications.
• Ensure all site managers complete Refuel Food Training
• Track expiration dates, renewals, and completion for all compliance items.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with the Director of Food Service to align field support efforts with overarching strategies and priorities.
• Actively participate in leadership meetings, providing insights and recommendations based on data and operational feedback.
Program Scalability and Standardization:
• Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for training, program integration, and operational initiatives.
• Ensure all SOPs are scalable and adaptable to diverse geographic regions.
Travel as Needed:
• Support field teams through in-person visits to ensure successful program rollouts, transitions, and provide direct training when required.
• Conduct site evaluations and facilitate on-the-ground problem-solving during travel assignments (approximately 20% travel).
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
• 5 years in a multi-unit leadership role, preferably at the regional level.
• Experience in convenience store and QSR food service operations.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proven experience with cross-regional operations and program scalability.
• Experience with acquisition integration and operational support.
• Familiarity with PDI back-office systems.
• Marketing/Category experience.
