Summary : The primary responsibility of the Cinema Systems Engineer is to provide a high level of expertise in digital cinema projection and sound systems; and to install, maintain, repair, and upgrade digital cinema projection and sound systems, the digital cinema network, and all its components. The Cinema Systems Engineer must ensure that theatre personnel are able to exhibit the best motion picture presentations possible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Regular and Consistent Attendance
- Provide immediate service to correct equipment problems in emergencies as they occur.
- Conduct a preventative maintenance service call two times each year per theatre assigned to service.
- Work with the Regional Director and Vice President of Technical Services, on the design and implementation of digital cinema projection and sound systems within the company.
- Work with all theatre management to assist them in the advancement of their knowledge and proficiency in the areas pertaining to digital cinema operation.
- Supervise all 3rd party equipment installation, repair, or removal (i.e. NCM, Fathom, DCDC, 4DX, IMAX, etc.).
- Travel, when requested, to other regions within the company to supervise and assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of digital cinema systems, including projectors sound systems, servers, and digital cinema networks.
- Communicate directly and effectively with equipment manufacturers to resolve equipment problems.
- Leverage training and experience to judge the work necessary and order / purchase the required parts to complete repairs.
- Consider varying circumstances when ordering parts to determine the necessity and urgency when expediting part deliveries and make decisions accordingly.
- Equipment installations in new & existing theatres will be assigned to technicians by the Regional Director of Technical Services. A technician may be assigned to conduct or assist with any installation, regardless of if it is in the technician's service area.
- Maintain an accurate site survey for each theatre in the assigned service area.
- Perform other duties as assigned
