What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher position at Regal Estates of League City?
Summary of Responsibility:
The Dishwasher is responsible for assisting with the preparation and service of food for all of the residents, while meeting the cleanliness needs of the Kitchen and Dining Room. All of this must be done in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Food Services Director to ensure that quality food service is provided at all times.

Duties:
- Maintains cleanliness of Kitchen and Dining Room.
- Ensures all dishware and preparation tools are clean and sanitized after each use.
- Assists in preparation and service of food using proper food handling and food safety techniques according to established policies and regulations.
- Keeps work area clean and uncluttered.
- Maintains the proper temperature of food during preparation and service. Records temperatures of food according to established policy.
- Maintains the proper temperature and sanitation of dish machine during use. Records temperatures of dish machine according to established policy.
- Labels, dates and stores food and chemicals properly according to established policies.
- Ensures that refrigerator/freezer temperatures are within the appropriate range and reports any discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Washes pots, pans, serving utensils, etc. according to established procedures for manual and/or automatic dishwashing. Then stores them away properly to avoid contamination.
- Reports all hazardous and malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor as directed.
- Makes recommendations to the Supervisor regarding improvements in equipment, etc. to enhance the quality of the food service.
- Develops and maintains a good working relationship, in a cooperative manner, with all employees in the food service department and other departments in the facility.
- Participate in programs for in-service education, on-the-job training and orientation classes for newly assigned department personnel.
- Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information to ensure resident rights are protected.
Education and Experience:
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
- Must possess as a minimum, a high school diploma.
- Must be able to follow safety precautions in Dietary.
- Must wear appropriate slip resistant shoes.
- Recommended training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, etc.
