Quality Inspector

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Assist production and engineering by auditing, inspecting, and documenting non conformances in materials, processes, and procedures.

• Perform visual, dimensional, mechanical, and electrical checks on purchased parts, machined parts, subassemblies, and completed products
• Perform post pack audits for assigned products.
• Set up and operate inspection, measuring, and test equipment such as fixed gages, electrical test equipment, calipers, micrometers, and electronic gauging as required by history cards, prints or Quality Plans. Maintain inspection logs as part of quality records.
• Set up and operate Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) and other automated metrology equipment.
• Identify, segregate, and document Non-Conforming Material per documented procedures.
• Initiate Rejected Material Reports, deviations and first article reports.
• File and maintain quality records.
• Train others in use of inspection equipment, print interpretation, and Quality System procedures.
• Audit machining and assembly areas. Include: proper use and care of inspection, measuring and test equipment and compliance with Quality System procedures.
• Perform micro hardness testing.
• Apply job duties according to Manufacturing Instructions (M.I.'s) and Quality Plans (Q.P.'s) located in cell.
• Perform duties of similar complexity as assigned by the supervisor.
• Communicate essential information to the supervisor as required.
• Adhere to all division health and safety regulations including 5S responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training. Must be able to read blueprints.
• Strong computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Windows Explorer file management, Adobe, MS Word, MS Access, Outlook and a high degree of Microsoft Excel knowledge.
• Ability to read, follow, and understand prints, MI's and QP's to accomplish an assigned task.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present technical information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other Associates of the organization.
• Ability to work with a variety of mathematical concepts, including but not limited to geometry and basic algebra.
