What You'll Achieve
- Inspire and lead quality transformation among a team of 300 associates making key Aerospace components.
- Oversee a comprehensive quality management ecosystem focused on data-driven improvements.
- Focus on developing and enhancing talent within the quality team.
- Manage customer relations and engage directly with main stakeholders in the Aerospace sector.
- Skilled in applying AS9100C and Nadcap standards effectively and efficiently.
- Facilitate & implement process improvements including inspection enhancements.
- Direct Quality Assurance and Engineering teams by setting annual goals and tracking progress.
- Expand team resources to support quality assurance, engineering efforts, and compliance with customer and FAA requirements.
- Establish financial oversight for the department, guiding budgeting and expenditure processes.
- Contribute to strategic planning and monthly performance reviews, striving to meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Drive reduction in scrap and rejection rates while improving on-time delivery metrics.
- Advance continuous improvement by holding yourself and others accountable using Lean methodologies.
- Serve as the point person for product disclosures in critical circumstances.
- Recognized knowledge of Six Sigma; adept in using all methodologies in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in DMAIC, dFMEA, pFMEA, and Lean systems. Experience with PPAP process is advantageous.
- Thorough understanding of key technical principles like Statics, Dynamics, Thermodynamics, etc.
- Mechanical aptitude suitable for representation at Material Review Board (MRB).
- Preferably experienced in a machine shop setting.
- Competency with aerospace grade materials and specifications is ideal.
- Passionate about promoting a Continuous Improvement culture across teams.
- Experienced in implementing Lean tools and methodology.
- Sound knowledge of Aerospace standards - OEM, FAA, and DCMA requirements.
- Excellent proficiency in computer applications related to word processing, graphics, and spreadsheets.
- Strong project management abilities.
- A team player capable of influencing others.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel both locally and interstate.
- Proven experience presenting to client audiences.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in Quality Assurance management, with Aerospace Manufacturing background.
- Travel Requirement: Less than 10%.
