What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant Financial Reporting position at Regal?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Regular and Consistent Attendance
- Assist in the preparation of financial disclosures and footnotes for external reporting purposes.
- Prepares the supporting documentation for quarterly and annual financial statements and footnote disclosures.
- Prepares and develops financial statement variance analysis in excel, which may include researching and analyzing general ledger activities and collaborating with various departments to gather inputs into the analysis.
- Coordinates the timely communication of financial information needed across the global organization used in the quarter-end close process.
- Reviews information gathered from the global team and follow-ups with any review questions.
- Applies principles of U.S. GAAP accounting to analyze financial information and prepares ad hoc financial reports as needed.
- Assist with developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.
- Maintains proper support and documentation and assists with implementing and maintaining internal controls related to SOX compliance.
- Assists in the timely completion of the internal and external audit by preparing audit schedules and answering questions.
- Working knowledge of the general ledger computer systems and other software tools used in performing assigned duties.
- Works on special accounting projects as assigned.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required; two to three years related experience and/or training is preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Word and Outlook including advanced Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables is required.
- Hands-on experience with accounting ERP software packages is a plus is required.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Active CPA or CPA certificate required.
Language Ability:
- Ability to apply concepts of accounting and to have a working knowledge of the use of technical accounting pronouncements/literature.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Must have good reading, writing, and speaking skills to effectively communicate with studios, managers, and co-workers.
Math Ability:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, commissions, and proportions.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to develop and interpret charts.
