As a certified wound care/treatment specialist, you will work with the center clinical team and, under physician orders, develop and implement a wound care/treatment plan that meets each resident’s specific needs and reflects best practices.:
You will:
- Perform accurate and comprehensive wound/skin care assessments of each assigned resident.
- Develop and implement an evidence-based care plan for each wound care patient.
- Communicate patient clinical status changes to the healthcare team and physician.
- Visit in-room with staff for collaboration, education/training, evaluating competency, and performing skills checks.
- Review charts of wound care patients as assigned.
- Deliver skilled nursing care.
- Manage nursing duties on a rotating basis.
- Possess a nursing license in the state of employment.
- Possess active wound care certification.
- Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and inform on appropriate issues.
- Maintain current wound care/treatment practices.
