We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Para Educator to join our Education team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and possess a passion for special education.
This position is a Monday - Friday position with children in a classroom setting in the Manchester hOO area/surrounding towns. .
Duties:
- Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Support students in various educational settings, including classrooms and one-on-one sessions
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure student success
- Collaborate with teachers in curriculum development and lesson planning
- Provide support in early childhood education programs
- Assist students in math and other subject areas as needed
- Work in private school settings to enhance the learning experience for students
Skills:
- Experience working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of special education practices and principles
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, teachers, and parents
- Familiarity with Montessori or similar educational approaches
- Ability to educate and support students in various subject areas
- Proficiency in curriculum development and lesson implementation
- 2 years experience of working as a paraprofessional and/or special education students in a classroom setting
- Ability to clear background check and fingerprints
- CPI certification preferred but not required, we can provide the trainings
