About the Position : Are you a seasoned accounting professional looking to take the next big step in your career? We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Accounting to lead our Accounting Team at our corporate office in Champaign, Illinois (with some travel required ). In this key leadership role, you'll develop and implement financial policies and procedures, oversee general ledger activities, manage fixed assets, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, all while helping Regency Multifamily continue to thrive.

Here's What You'll Do : (Variety of work)

Lead the Accounting Team with strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Oversee general ledger activities and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of journal entries and financial statement preparation

Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements

Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and risk mitigation strategies

Leverage your expertise with accounting systems software and Microsoft Excel to streamline processes

Provide mentorship and ongoing education to the Accounting Team to maintain current best practices

What You'll Need :

A bachelor's degree in accounting or in business with an accounting focus.

CPA certification preferred.

Knowledge of GAAP & US income Tax Standards

At least five years of experience in accounting or financial management , preferably in a multiple- ledger accounting environment.

Proficiency in journal entry through financial statement preparation, budgeting, and cash management.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong attention to detail and analytical proficiency .

High proficiency with accounting systems software and Microsoft Excel.

A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
