Part-Time Respiratory Therapist Position
The Respiratory Therapist plays a critical role in the care of residents with breathing disorders, assessing, treating, and caring for them. This includes assuming responsibility for all respiratory care modalities, initiating and conducting therapeutic procedures, maintaining patient records, and selecting, assembling, checking, and operating equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Initiates, monitors, and maintains life support systems
- Ensures staff compliance with facility and regulatory agency guidelines
- Monitors outcomes of various respiratory care procedures
- Establishes and maintains respiratory equipment par-level and required maintenance records
- Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions
- Conducts quality assurance audits
- Conducts quality control monitoring
- Aides in the development and implementation of quality improvement programs
- Performs random resident care compliance audits
- Participates in ongoing educational programs to enhance clinical competency for self and staff
- Provides routine clinical care, including non-invasive ventilator checks, tracheostomy care, suctioning, resident evaluations, care plan development, respiratory medication delivery, supply changes, and equipment management
Requirements:
- Must be a certified Respiratory Therapist
- Licensed in the state
- Completion of a two-year accredited Respiratory Program
- Current CPR certification
- Prefer 2 years' experience in a long-term care setting
