Reimbursement Specialist - Skilled Nursing
Extensive Overnight Travel Throughout Oregon and Washington
The Reimbursement Specialist is responsible for multi-facility oversight of the RAI process, ensuring accuracy of coding MDS assessments and capturing aspects of care delivery to the residents.
As a Reimbursement Specialist, you will:
- Training and Mentoring new MDS nurses.
- Monitor PCC portals to ensure MDSs are opened appropriately.
- Monitoring and assessing MDS submissions monthly for each SNF facility to ensure correct MDSs are scheduled. The frequency of monitoring can be adjusted depending on findings.
- Auditing MDS/PDPM assessments monthly for each SNF facility to review for accuracy in coding.
- Monitor Quality Measure for each facility monthly with follow-up to the facility of any areas that can be improved, and assist with training and action plans.
- Monitor QRP/VBP as information becomes available to determine education and process improvement opportunities.
- Assist in arranging for MDS completions when a facility requires assistance, to include assigning other MDS coordinator to assist.
You Currently:
- Must possess a current RN license. License must be in good standing. To be licensed in Oregon and Washington and any other state as VP of Operations requests.
- Must be MDS certified through AAPACN with at least 5 years of experience with the RAI process.
- Must have knowledge of Medicare/Insurance requirements related to skilled nursing care.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare delivery systems and utilization management practices.
- Proficient computer skills and experience with electronic medical records.
