Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Patient Care: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor and assess patient health to ensure optimal care.
• Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, emotional, and psychological evaluations.
• Care Planning: Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Monitoring and Documentation: Regularly monitor patient conditions and document changes, progress, and responses to treatments in electronic health records.
• Patient Advocacy: Serve as a patient advocate by communicating effectively with patients and their families, addressing concerns, and ensuring informed decision-making.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure continuity of services.
• Education: Educate patients and families on health management, treatment plans, and preventive measures to promote overall well-being.
• Compliance: Adhere to all regulatory and organizational policies and procedures to maintain a safe and compliant healthcare environment.
• Emergency Response: Provide immediate care and support in emergency situations, including implementing appropriate interventions and notifying necessary personnel.

Qualifications:

• Licensure: Valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa.
• Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Previous experience in, long-term care, rehabilitation or a skilled nursing setting, is required.
• Skills: Strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced certifications (such as ACLS or PALS) may be required based on specific job functions.

Physical Requirements:

Mobility: Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.

• Lifting and Carrying: Must be able to lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds and assist in patient transfers.
• Dexterity: Proficient in using hands for tasks like administering medications, taking vital signs, and operating medical equipment.
• Vision: Ability to read small text, labels, and monitor patient conditions visually.
• Hearing: Capable of hearing subtle sounds like heartbeats or changes in patient speech, and responding to alarms.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Endurance: Ability to work long or overnight shifts in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• Stamina and Strength: Ability to remain focused and respond quickly during emergencies and critical situations.
