POSITION
We are seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator who will work with our scholars and families to remove barriers to student attendance. This role will perform a variety of duties related to attendance, communicate with parents and guardians regarding attendance problems and related issues, and provide information regarding school programs and procedures. These staff members meet with administration, students, and families to ensure that barriers to attendance are reduced or removed and students access their education.

Responsibilities:
Monitors attendance and assists with various attendance procedures.
Communicates with students and parents regarding attendance and related issues; makes and receives phone calls and notes regarding student attendance concerns and problems; makes home visits as needed.
Provides student attendance information to staff, parents, and authorities as requested; explains and interprets policies and regulations regarding school attendance.
Build strong relationships with families.
Make home visits as necessary and appropriate related to attendance.
Refers serious attendance problems according to established procedures; assists in identifying and resolving problems of students with frequent absenteeism.
Support student recruitment at key times during the year by attending events and building relationships with prospective families.
