Regeneron's Preclinical Manufacturing and Process Development (PMPD) team is seeking a Staff Engineer with analytical development expertise to support manufacturing process development functions. A Day in the Life of a Staff Engineer
- Perform physicochemical characterization for all stages of viral vector products
- Support process development by designing, developing, and automating fast and robust assays for AAV characterization
- Test samples for characterizing AAV safety, integrity, strength, purity, and quality, generate results, and onboard new technologies
- Cross-train on and provide support for upstream and downstream process development operations
- Provide scientific expertise in theory and practice of manufacturing steps and analytical methods and mentor junior colleagues to expand team capabilities
- Maintain instruments and fix instrumental/experimental problems
- Prepare and deliver effective oral presentations in area of expertise at internal and external professional meetings

The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong fundamental understanding of assay development for bioprocess characterization and detailed knowledge of statistical analysis principles used in Design of Experiments
- Direct experience with analytical assays for characterizing AAV vectors required
- Experience with operating and troubleshooting liquid handlers preferred
- Meaningful experience with some of the following techniques and software helpful: qPCR/ddPCR, ELISA-based assays, Analytical ultracentrifuges, Western blots, Capillary electrophoresis, HPLC, UPLC, Next-generation sequencing, Mass photometry, Dynamic and static light scattering, Hamilton liquid handlers, VENUS, INSTINCT, Empower
