Position Summary/ Objectives
The Facility Technician will be responsible to perform maintenance, calibration, and repairs to manufacturing equipment. This position ensures the continuity of improving safety, productivity, yields, reliability, and manufacturing costs. The successful candidate will possess a high degree of professionalism, maturity, and confidentiality.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of manufacturing equipment and machinery
- Performs preventive maintenance and calibration work on manufacturing equipment
- Troubleshoots and resolves recurring equipment issues and improves reliability
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; reading equipment manuals, and using measuring and testing instruments
- Disassembles and repairs equipment and instruments
- Makes recommendations regarding safety and equipment operation procedures. Makes recommendations when equipment needs to be replaced instead of repaired
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and maintains strict compliance with company cGMPs and documentation rules
- Trace out utilities for new equipment and facility buildouts

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.
Education, Experience and Certification:
- This position requires a minimum of GED/high school diploma or an Associates degree in a relevant field, and requires a minimum of 10 years’ experience working as a mechanic
- Experience with blending, granulation, compression and coating processes is desirable, but not required.
- Solid ability to follow written and oral instructions with minimum supervision
- Ability to understand and follow standard operational procedures
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written reports.
- Experience identifying problems and taking independent initiative to solve
- Ability to work from blueprints and drawings in constructing and repairing equipment
- Ability to read building plans and blueprints for new construction projects
- Experience working with various vendors and trades associated with construction projects and manages other projects as needed
- Strong experience preparing procedures and cGMP documents
- Knowledgeable reading and interpreting electrical schematics and PLC boards
- Must be able to accurately document work in both written and electronic form
