SUMMARY :
The candidate will implement quality control standards, processes, and controls. Develop methods for inspection and training. Assist during FAA audits, customer audits and conduct internal audits. Evaluates production capabilities and recommends improvements. Assist in developing quality control policies and procedures. Ensures the quality control system meets customer and company requirements.
JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Manages overall aspects of the manufacturing functions of facilities’ Quality Control Department(s) including Receiving and Final Inspections.
- Participate in MRB (Material Review Board) meetings.
- Manages Quality Documentation Employees.
- Attend daily production meetings to keep Operations current on QC issues and to provide support as needed.
- Develops sampling plans, quality standards, and process control instructions for use by manufacturing to monitor and reduce variations.
- Leads teams that include customer and / or supplier representatives to identify and permanently resolve problems, and to nurture the customer co-destiny relationship (Part 121).
- Develops training and maintains proper documentation for all manufacturing employees.
- Evaluate candidates for QA / QC positions when opening occur.
- Maintain drug and alcohol abatement program.
- Proficient in FAA regulations and FARs particularly pertaining to Part 121 (Repair Stations).
- Acts as ultimate point of contact to the FAA / EASA and is present at and oversees audits with Quality Managers at each site (Part 121).
- Review, approve and maintain current revision of the company manual (RSM).
- Submit RSM revisions to the FAA FSDO for approval.
- Ensure distribution of the revised RSM to all employees who have been assigned a controlled copy.
- Responsible for display of the Repair Station Certification and responds to requests for viewing of the Certification by the FAA or the public.
- Ensure that work accomplished outside the repair station’s fixed location is performed in accordance with the RSM.
- Determine the final disposition of articles failing to meet the incoming inspection review.
- Oversee and maintain compliance of ISO and AS9100 Programs.
- Ensure proper employee training is conducted and appropriate training records are maintained.
- Maintain signature authority for maintenance release forms, Airworthiness Approval Tags and Certificates of Compliance.
- Maintain internal audits for all manufacturing thru RAC / ABS.
- Meets with customer’s quality and manufacturing management to ensure a full understanding of customer needs and requirements and to identify process and product improvement opportunities.
- Leads teams that include customer and / or supplier representatives to identify and permanently resolve problems, and to nurture the customer co-destiny relationship.
- Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
- Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
- Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
- Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
- Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations.
- Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
- Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes.
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
- Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics.
As Necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.
Management must contact the Human Resource department of adding to or changing a significant number of duties.
